The Biltong Farm was created by Husband and Wife Team, Gavin and Rebecca.
Rebecca worked a a fitness instructor, and struggled to find a high protein snack to eat between classes that didn’t require some form of refrigeration, and not being a fan of processed protein shakes she eventually discovered biltong. This ticked all the boxes; a natural, low fat, high protein delicious snack that slipped nicely into her gym bag.
However, this soon became a problem as Rebecca loved the snack a little too much, and started to create recipes so that she could enjoy it at meal times too. She had become ADDICTED to biltong. (a common side-effect)
Gavin’s Grandmother decided that due to Rebecca’s love for Biltong, she would buy her a biltong box for Christmas. Rebecca then started to make the biltong at home – and this was even better than what she could buy in the shops! Friends and family visiting Gavin and Rebecca’s home would comment on the biltong box, and Rebecca would reluctantly share her stash of lovingly prepared biltong. Everyone who tried it wanted more!
Gavin eventually persuaded Rebecca that it wasn’t fair on the rest of the UK to not let them enjoy the fabulous biltong and the amazing flavours she had discovered.
And as they say…… “the rest is history”.
